The following documents are required for a visa application:
- You must have a letter from a sponsor or host in the UAE, which shows your invitation to visit the country. Those invited by a company or organization must also have an invitation letter.
- You need a copy of the host's passport and their residency permit within the UAE for individual invitations or a copy of the business' license for business related invitations.
- Have a letter showing your employment status. If you will not be working, you'll need your bank to provide a letter testifying to your financial good standing.
- Show a cover letter which introduces yourself, explains the reason you wish to stay more than 6 months, and the specific reason for your visa request.
Filing an online application is a convenient process, as it allows you to attach digital copies of these required documents to your application form. After filling in the online application form, you'll receive an email verifying that you've received interim approval. You will then need to send, by postal mail, originals of the required documents, two signed copies of the application form and two passport photographs.
Processing fees for a visa are $51.00 and only money orders are accepted. Expect to wait at least three business days for your visa to be processed. The Consul has the final say on the duration of your visa.
